His WW1 service shows he went overseas (Gallipoli) 25/4/15 with the 1st. Battalion. The 1/RMF were in Burma at the outbreak of war.
End of Dec. 1915 posted back to the UK
Nov. 1916 posted to France & the 16th. Div. IBD (Infantry Base Depot).
A few days later posted to the 2nd. RMF.
March 1917 posted to the 3rd. Batt. & attached to 252 Protection Coy. Royal Defence Corps.
So back in the UK by this time & concerned with protection of coastal defences or other important facilities.
He received the 15 Star, BW & Victory medals.

A particularly fine record of active service that you really should try to access.

PS  Minor correction (save us from pedants!) = his Jun 1915 promotion to Warrant Officer Class 2 was in the substantive rank of Colour Sergeant but his appointment was to Company Sergeant Major.

Hi Jack

Looks like there is a minor change to your user name, have a look at the top of the first page,

"Jack TT" originally, http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=166909

"JackTT" now, http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=292600

suggest you go back to using Jack TT to keep your post count.

I can then delete the 2 latest posts under the new name to prevent further confusion.
