On 5th April 1846, at St Mary Haggerston, Hackney. Henry Butt married a widow named Sarah Hewiit. Her father was William Harris so that is her maiden name I assume :)
I'm having trouble tracking her first marriage and her in the 1841 census. Henry and Sarah lived in Shoreditch in 1851 and 1861, they had three children, Henry, John and Charles.
The records are probably really obvious but I'm just not finding them for some reason. From the census it says that she was born abt 1816 so I'm guessing around 1840?? For a first short lived marriage.

Looking at the 1851 census Sarah had two children from her previous marriage living with her -Elizabeth Jane 13 Islington and George 9 Kensington so maybe her marriage was pre 1837
Not seeing the family in 1841 at the moment :-\

That looks good LM :)
I am surprised that she did not add Butt to the collection of surnames ;D ;D

There is a John Smith Hewett death Mar qtr 1839 Amersham - but wouldn’t have been around to father George.
A John Smith Hewett married in Marylebone in 1850 aged 20 - father John Smith Hewett, carman, decd.
“Carman” is the same paternal occupation as was on Elizabeth Jane Perryman Hewett’s marriage.
-
I wondered about this death in the same reg dist as George was born

Wow, thankyou everyone. That us quite a surprise. Why does it say on her marriage cert that her fathers name was William Harris ??? So confused.
But this all makes alot of sense as to why I couldn't find anything
-
Hopefully Georges birth certificate will give a bit more information on his father
-
Perhaps there was another marriage but George's cert would be a good idea

Thankyou, yes it would. Everything is looking like her maiden name was originally Perryman though. Very strange!
-
As Rosie said George's certificate might be a good idea, at least it will give you more information, it is near enough to the 1841 that might give you a definite address for that census, if you do purchase the cenus let us know and we can look on 1841 for you
Happy hunting
