Looking for any details of Eugene Daly born in Tralee in 1920-1982. He married Catherine Conroy 1918-1995 also of Tralee. ( not sure of marriage dates. They had 1 son in 1946.
I think his father was Henry ??? Daly but unsure of that.
Catherine's parents were John and Katherine ( but not sure).
Trying to narrow down the correct Henry Daly, only sure facts are Eugene and Catherine.
Thankyou.

Thanks for your replies, I did not know about the release dates, The Eugene Daly in the article is not who I am looking for unfortunately! In fact the one in the article is my grandfather, small world!!!
"My one was born in 1920 and I think his middle name was Christopher, however this may not be on the birth record, rather taken later in a religious ceremony.
-
Hello,
Why do you think his father was Henry? Do you know the names of any siblings?
Heywood
-
I am not 100% sure that his father was Henry, I was guided in direction of Irishgeneology site and found details of 4 children, but as pointed out already, the births only go up to 1916. I was hoping that the birth record would confirm one way or the other.
-
That was what I was working on :)
Where did Eugene and Catherine marry? Did they only have the one child? (Wondering if any family names were used)
-
From what I know they married in Kerry, they had 1 child, Noel, very scant information, sorry!

It is very scant.
The only one I can see born 1946 is not born in Tralee and doesn’t have a mother of that name. :-\
Just realised the child may not be born there according to your statement.
By the way, no living persons can be mentioned.
-
The link to the reply by Catherine Mazzamauro was to note that she said her grandparents were Eugene Daly and Catherine Conway both of Tralee and that they had 5 children
-
Eugene Daley and Catherine Conway married in 1925

Not the Eugene we search.
Jack,
Is this Eugene not the same family at all as the grandfather in the article?

There are births for Eugene Daly in 196 and 1920, Tralee.
Unfortunately, index does not give mother’s maiden name.
http://www.rootschat.com/links/01mbc/
No records show for a Conroy birth in Tralee.
-
Jack,
What is the context of your search? Are you willing to give this information.
There is a death for Eugene Daly, 7 yrs in 1927 , Tralee which looks very likely to be the Eugene born 1920 who is the person in your search. :-\

Dathai’s posts have similar names. Could that be the one?

Context of search, I have been contacted by a possible distant Daly relative, I have seen his family tree, and his father is down as Henry Daly ( same one as me), also the other relatives are the same as mine. I was trying to establish that his Eugene Daly was the son of my ancestor Henry Daly.
The Eugene Daly that I am trying to find apparently was born, married and died in Tralee. He died in 1982.
I have asked the sender of information where he got his data from, but so far no reply. I can only go on the fact that he has got the details of his mother and father correct, eg: Eugene Daly and Catherine Conroy.
The Eugene Daly and Catherine Conway are my grandparents ( 100% sure).
The Eugene in the article is a relative, he survived the Titanic along with his sister Marcella(Maggie) Daly.
So , I am trying to establish if there is a Eugene Christopher Daly born to Henry Daly and Mary Ellen O Brian. Unfortunately I have no living relatives that could answer any questions.
Ongoing thanks for your research.

There is a burial for a Eugene Daly, 63 yrs in December 1983 :-\
He was a farmer - address Clashatlea, Ballymacelligott, Tralee
The year of birth fits

-
Yes , that looks like the right one, i think the 1982 death was approximate. Great bit of detective work, thanks.
-
Heywood.
Just used the Kerry Burials link and found Katherine Daly D. 1995
Thanks again, if only the birth records were so easy!

I can only see a Kathleen in 1995 and she is living in Tralee. Who is she?
-
Im fairly sure that this is the Catherine Conroy that Eugene married. The age is about right 77 and Catherine and Kathleen( sorry I said Katherine in my last reply) are often used for same person.
-
I am not so sure you have the right people here :-\
I hope you are right.
However, if you look here http://www.rootschat.com/links/01mbn/
and there are similar ones for other years, you see mention of a Eugene there, the place ties with the death I gave you. I am concerned that as this is quite recent, there may be living relatives.
I would think you need better information from your informant.
-
Yes , tend to agree, I will have to wait to see if my contact replies, again thankyou.
-
BTW, cant get that last link to work.
-
Just an update in case anyone is interested.
I visited Ireland very recently and called in at the Registrars officeEugene i was looking for, copy of birth cert etc. Better news is that this one was the last born son of Henry Daly ( my grandfathers brother). The records gave an address which confirmed the link.
I have mailed the contact who originally identified the connection, so also found a new distant relative.
So in this case, it appears that a visit to a registrars office in Ireland will produce more info than whats on line!
Thanks again to everyone who assisted in this research.
-
sorry..... called in at the registrars office, they found the Eugene that I was looking for......
-
Thanks for the update and glad you have solved it now :)
