Title: Robert Cooper
Post by: paulsue38 on Sunday 08 July 18 14:19 BST (UK)
Good afternoon my name is Paul from Bebington Wirral. Looking for information about my 3rd Great Grandfather Robert Cooper. He was born in 1821 but don't know his birthplace (but Ireland indicated on census). He married Emma Harriet Evans in Bangor, Down on 21st April 1845. Four of his children appear to have been born in Belfast. In the 1861 Census he is in Liverpool and occupation is mason.
Any help would be gratefully received.
Best wishes
Paul

Hi there, a transcript of the church record of the 1845 marriage (Bangor Church of Ireland) has a blank where the details of Robert's father should be, this is in contrast to the bride's father's details, which are recorded.  GRONI has a civil registration for that marriage online (pay to view), if you've viewed it, does it show his father's details?

Many thanks to you both for replying. So it Looks like Church of Ireland for religion and the Father is  listed as Robert Cooper deceased.

I did find a census entry which may be the family?

You found a 70 y.o in 1916 applying for Pension....what is there is what was on 1851 Census for that person.

Everything is explained on the Home page before you search Pensions

... So it Looks like Church of Ireland for religion and the Father is  listed as Robert Cooper deceased ...

I've now seen a copy of the civil marriage record and the father's details are blank as well (like the church record), in contrast to the bride's father's details, which are recorded.  When you say 'the Father is listed as Robert Cooper deceased', what is the source of this?
