I am trying to find the burial monument of 3x great grandfather William Jervis Butter. According to a newspaper clipping of his death. He died May 23 1902 and internment was at Hanley Cemetery on May 27.
Looking at the Staffordshire Burial Index, I find a record for a surname Butter buried at Hanley 1902 entry C7583 page 4682 with grave ref 8236 the only problem it says December quarter.
Next to it is a record for surname Butler Hanley 1902 entry C7157 page 4635 grave ref 9895 with the correct quarter of June. I am wondering if this is the correct entry and a transcription error had occurred.
Can someone check the Hanley cemetery for me to confirm?

I've tried to contact the cemetery, but the only way they can help is by someone instigating a search - cost is £30.00 ;D

On the Staffordshire Burial Indexes website there is a contact e-mail address - perhaps they might be able to check the details: robecarter at hotmail.com (substitute @ for "at")
Worth a try :)

Thanks for the help Bumbleb. I contacted the Staffordshire Bereavement Care Centre who gave me Block 66 as the location and included two members of the Docksey family. They did not know if there was a marker or the row and plot. They did say it was next to the grave stone of the Morgan's.
I have placed a request at Findagrave website to see if it can be found.
