Title: John Allen and Sarah ?? Possible 1773 Marriage
Post by: nichbuket on Saturday 14 July 18 01:01 BST (UK)
Hello,

I am attempting to trace a marriage for a John Allen and a Sarah ??.  Being that there first child was recorded baptized in 1775 Rochford, I have been looking from 1765-1775 for the marriage with little luck finding a John Allen and Sarah during that time in the area.

I see that seax has a John Allen and Sarah GREEN Marriage licence bond and allegation in 1773, but says the only way to see it is to visit their search room--Which as I am out of the country doesn't work very well.

I can't find a listing of this marriage at all anywhere else and would like to know what part of essex it took place in so I can move forward or set aside this possibility.  Does anyone know where I can find further index/parish records for it?

thanks!
Nich

You can see the allegation here (but not the bond). Need to be logged in

Thank you. I had used FS but somehow must have missed it.

I’m debating if Elmstead is to far from Rochford at the moment—being today it’s at least an hour.

Don't think there's any baptisms to John and Sarah in Elmstead.
A John Allen baptized there in 1738, father John (as per allegation)
Another one in 1736, father Thomas. One of those may have married Jane Chapman in 1764.
