Hi,
Would someone please have a look at the attached 2 baptism entries, and let me know
1. Where Henry Bryce was a labourer in 1820? Its looks like Beckstone???
2. Where was Henry from when he was a sawyer at Shotts in 1823?
I'm trying to find out where he was born and hoped this document would give me a clue but I just can't make it out.
Thanks very much

Thank you.
Having taken a look at a current map of the area, do you happen know whether the place currently known as 'Stane' just south of Shotts, is the Packstone in the record? or is Packstone somewhere else?

Haven't looked at maps but from online references Paxtane farm seems likely. The Pack Stone (Peden's Stone) is thereabouts.

Yes, I've searched Paxtane Farm, and I think you are right.
Thanks ShaunJ, this is a part of Scotland I'm not familiar with.
