Diolch / Thank you Keyboard. I have this census record plus 1871.
Can any more info be gotten as to her death, marriage and / or children I wander? I want to bring my tree that I have on Ancestry up to 2018, that is the objective.
Here is another member of the family, from Bodesi.
Dorothy Owen
1786–1842
BIRTH ABT 1786 • Bodesi Farm, Bethesda, Caernarvonshire, Wales
DEATH APRIL 1842 • Llanrwst, Denbighshire, United Kingdom
my 4th great-aunt

A marriage registration that looks possible :
Q2, 1878, Llanrwst, 11b, 597
Sydney Davies with Robert Roberts, John Evans and Ellen Davies on the same page.
It might be that you could follow up a Sydney Roberts or Evans on the 1881.

Diolch / Thank you Gadget. I have that info too. They had two children Elinor and Henry.
-
1881
Possibly living with in laws at Eglwys Fach as Sydney Evans
RG11/5535/36/6
but I see you have this info -
bit puzzled at this then:

I think it was Edith rather than Elinor on the
1881 1891. They also had a son, John, b.c. 1892.
See 1901 RG13/5242/88/4

Wondering about Edith as she appears to be registered as mmn Evans. Only with them on the 1891
Added - later info suggests that they only had David and John ???
-
Hi again, as you appear to have so much more information re the family, where was Sydney/Sydna in 1851 if correct family, who is the Ann in 1861 aged 13 and the Ann aged 1 on 1851?
Did John Davies marry Margaret Evans 20th June 1843 Llanrwst Father Henry Davies and Evan Evans?
Childrens births in Llanrwst suggest mmn Evans.

Hello, I don't have the 1851 census in my tree as yet. As to the 'Ann" I'll have to research that further.

Hello, I've had a look at the 151 records, none of the birth dates fit 1850 at this time.

This could be her death
Sydney Evans,aged 75, Llanrwst, Q2 1928, 11b, 359

I got hints on Ancestry regarding the children.

Hello Gadget,
It could be. I know nothing about the family.

I got hints on Ancestry regarding the children.
Most Ancestry hints are wrong or misleading. Her children were David and John - see my posts and look at the 1881, 1891, 1901 and 1911 censuses.
I have spent a lot of time this week trying to ascertain the ancestry of a direct ancestor. The Ancestry hints were 'rubbish'. The trees that are dna matches are poor or non-existent.

Thank you Gadget. I will work on this now. By the way, what hints and info do you rely on please?
Dewi

Hi Dewi
I look at them but I tend to rely, for accurate info, at BMDs, parish records, censuses, wills, etc. Like you, many of my ancestors were from Denbighshire, Merionethshire and Montgomeryshire, so Welsh wills, tithes, newspapers and other info from the National Library at Aberystwyth and the county archives and have been very useful. Also, the Clwyd FHS have a wide range of info. In the 'olden days', I used the Family History centres (when you could order various record sets) and archives.

No hints at all, my research, and purchase of certificates, who was your direct ancestor of Sydney?

PS the Sydney who married John Evans states b c 1853 Llanddoget in 1881 Llanwrst

Here's a piece on hints:

I think you might have been taking them at face value. Hints are not a replacement for available records and thorough checking and double checking of everything.
