Title: Had one this
Post by: Murrell on Tuesday 17 July 18 19:43 BST (UK)
I have marriage certificate for a chap from Gorey- stating
he is a soldier 1946.
Not sure if this person is dead or alive! May have been born 1925/26. Certificate shows he's a minor so I'm assuming that is under 21yrs.
Any ideas which regiment he may have been in, and who l could contact.
Many thanks for any help

Was it Gorey in Wexford? (It's the only place called Gorey which sprang to mind; there may be other places.) If so, was he in Irish army?

I'm puzzled by title of the thread.  ???

Gorey Jersey?

His name and place of marriage, name of spouse, parents names would be useful!?    You may then be able to identify him but from the military records point of view you would need his date of birth, death certificate, permission of next of kin to get his records from MOD.

Anything to do with previous query?

I have Fairview Road Wicklow on a 1946 wedding certificate
it's the residence of the groom. Does this road still exist?
The groom's father gives his profession as Sweeper not sure if this would be Chimney or Road - if it was a business it may have operated from this address. Who would l need to contact in Wicklow
Thanks for any help
