Title: Franks and Lipman lookups
Post by: MacGrigor on Tuesday 17 July 18 21:27 BST (UK)
Hello,

Looking for Priscilla Franks, born c. 1780, in Whitechapel in 1861

As well as Lewis Lipman, born c. 1800, was living in Aldgate at Cutler Street in 1841 (looking for any subsequent censuses)

Thanks,

Adam

There is this one - it's down as Banks, and the image looks like Banks to me, but someone has sent in a correction to Franks. Did she have a daughter, Ester?

Can you find any deaths for Lewis and Mary Lipman? And do you reckon that it is Lewis in Bethnal Green in 1871, if so please post the details!

Yes, I reckon so. It does seem likely. I'm gathering this information because I'm buying the marriage certificate of Morris Lipman and Rosetta Franks from 1844 (synagogue transcript was not much help) and these are all supposed to be their parents, with the exception of Benjamin Franks who died in 1831.

So where's Lewis in 1881 if he died in 1883?

The one who dies Hackney 1883 is in a Jewish institute in 1881 - b Royal Mint st, City (transcribed as Lewis). ALso there 1871 and unmarried

Yep, so that rules it out. Lewis Lipman died in 1871 and his wife in 1865. I'll add those to the list if confirmation is provided by Morris' marriage certificate.

Well thanks for all of the help! I've got a list of information on standby to incorporate depending on the marriage certificate.
