Title: Valuation rolls references question

Hi
For a property, will it have the same reference in every valuation roll. For instance if I find my house in 240, number 5. Will it be on the same reference in each volume? or does it change if the village gets bigger etc?

Mine went up by 10 every 10 years.
On the 1905 valuation rolls the last 2 reference numbers went up by 10 from the 1895 reference number. Then up another 10 from 1905 reference number in 1915.

When searching the VRs on SP, if you have an early/later address, you can leave all but County empty & use only the address to either go back/forward.

I'm not actually sure what you mean as the Index on Sp is free i.e. using the address you have shouldn't be a problem if you leave out the surname.

Maybe post your query as to who you're looking for with whatever info. you have, including the yrs you're interested in, name & address?
