I hope someone can help me with a puzzle. When did Public transport start between Glassonby /Penrith/?,I am asking for a relative in Australia who lived in the district many years ago. Many  thanks for your time.

Why does it need to be Public Transport?
Glassonby is, and was, a small village.
Transport would be by horse, horse and cart, or walking.
Penrith is just 8.6 miles away ;D

The station at Lazonby is just 3km to the west and is on the main line from London to Glasgow opened in 1876. Wikipedia is here...

The problem with Lazonby & Kirkoswald station is that it's on the Settle-Carlisle railway, with no direct link to Penrith?

Travelling to Penrith would have meant a change at Carlisle?
