Title: Florida death in late 1990's
Post by: EdCan on Friday 20 July 18 22:33 BST (UK)
Can someone tell me how to find a death in Florida likely in the late 1990's please. I am looking for the death of Audrey Venuta born 1924 Michigan. According to sibling obits she died between 1988 and 2012. I think she shows up in the Sarasota area in the mid 90's. so far I have drawn a blank.

Are you sure that she has died? If you can't find her death, I suppose you could always contact her (suspected) daughter as this lady can be found online in various spots.

The obituaries might not be accurate.  My grandmother is listed in a sibling's obituary 9 years after she actually died.  She had a lot of siblings, so I guess the surviving children hadn't really kept track of who was still around.

Also, databases like the US Public Records gets its info from, among other places, mailing lists.  I have people listed on there well after their date of death.

Can only go by brother Burton 2012 obit re her death. Unfortunately sister Barbara 2009 obit does not mention siblings. Husband George died 1985 St Petersburg. I tried contacting person with private tree but no response

Thanks

Thanks. It appears that she may still be alive although I have to wonder how up to date the sites are given that they show different telephone numbers.

I agree with the 1988-2012 time frame: Her brothers 2012 obit clearly lists 7 predeceased siblings and Audrey is one of them (Mistakes are possible, but this would not be a nice one). I have also seen some legal stuff that proves that she was definitely alive in 1988.

Since her husbands death Audrey seems to have spent time in the following counties (I'm keeping it generic for obvious reasons): Pinellas -> Manatee (?) -> Sarasota
(Note she might have only lived with her daughter in Manatee county temporaily, but that place changed hands a few years ago, so that address is not current anyway)

Her husband was cremated and this could explain why no grave has turned up for Audrey. There doesn't seem to be an SSid death for her and I have not been able to unearth an obit, a probate or other legal stuff (> 1988) in these 3 counties. => Is it possible that she might have returned to Canada (to live with her son)?
BTW What is her exact DOB as it might help to search the SS death index?

Unfortunately I have no exact date of birth. I guess with cremation anything is possible. Ashes may have returned to Canada to be buried with family or they may be on someones mantle. She joins a couple of her siblings whose deaths are also unfindable so far

Thanks

What information were you hoping to get from the obituary notice?
