I am trying to find the parents of Leopoldine Lapierre.
She was born in Canada (Quebec?) 2.7.1896 and died 2.7.1992, she married Noah Wheatley and then Ole Knudsen - Social Security application.
The 1910 U.S. census shows Leopoldine, here farther Arthur and brother Edgar in Oakland, Alameda, California.
the Social Security application shows here parents as Zaphir Lapierre and Melina Martel. While other records have shown here mother as Martel, I have only found records for Zaphir Arthur Lapierre marrying Pauline Scraire.

Anc tree has her full name as Maria Melina Victoria Leopoldine LaPierre but the birth date varies from yours. 28 October 1894 - ???
USA - SSDI - Leopoldine Wheatley 28 October 1894 - 2 July 1992 - Oakland, 94606, Alameda, California.

thank you Sandra.
I have also seen that tree, the records I have seen - newspapers about Mothers cookies, (Noah was the founder), SSDI and Census etc. have just Leopoldine - other names are not even hinted at i.e. initials. it could be she dropped them like Arthur might have dropped Zaphir?
interestingly, FindMyPast does not list Maria Melina Victoria Leopoldine LaPierre, but there are hundreds of Leopoldine's, Zaphir's and LaPierre's.

Amazing not finding exact matches with what you would think were unusual names but there seems to be lots :-\
Yes. I did come across a census with Zéphirin as the father of an Arthur in an 1871 census St Louis Montreal Quebec. ???

As I’d become totally confused, I’ve gone back to basics ...
According to the California death index:
Leopoldine Lapierre Wheatley/Knudson was born on 28 Oct 1894 in Canada and died on 02 Jul 1992 in Almeda, California. Her mothers surname is Martel.
( https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VPSQ-GQN and https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VP6V-KCK )
In the 1910 census in Oakland Ward 7, Alameda, California, we can find:
Arthur Lapierre b abt 1859, widowed, occupation photographer
Leopoldine Lapierre b abt 1895
Edgar Lapierre b abt 1896
Note: The family had immigrated to the US abt 1907/8.
In Feb 1915, a 20 year old Leopoldine Rose Lapierre (b Montreal, QC) immigrates from Canada to the States.
She is on her way to Oakland (CA), but had been living in Calgary, AB. This is also where her brother Armand Lapierre is residing.
Her US contact is her stepmother Louise Lapierre, but her fiancé had paid for the ticket.
Leopoldine declares that she had previously lived in the USA from 1907-Sep 1914.

Note#1
On 07 Aug 1914, an Arthur Z Lapierre (55y) dies in Almeda, CA. This could be the reason why Leopoldina had travelled back to Canada in Sep 1914
Note#2

Would this be brother Edgar's baptism (From the Drouin Collection on Ancestry):
Name: Joseph Edgard Yvan Lapierre
Event Type: Baptême (Baptism)
Baptism Date: 1897
I can't read it all but the parents seem to be correct.

that was my suspicion as well ...

Baptism for Edgard given above took place at Notre Dame de Grace in Montreal. Parents' names given are Arthur Lapierre and Marie Melina Martel. Arthur is a photographer by profession. Godparents are Eugene Lapierre, merchant of St. Jacques Montreal and Alice Ranger, his wife.
In the same church, I believe I have found Leopoldine, baptized 28 October 1894 (birth date does not seem to be given), daughter of Arthur Lapierre, photographer and Marie Melina(?), of this parish. Her name looks like Marie Meline Victoria Leopoldine Lapierre. Godparents are Charles Lapierre and Victoria Monette.
-
Son Joseph Louis Leopold born 4 January 1896 baptized the following day. Parents are Zephire Arthur Lapierre and Marie Melina Martel. Godparents are Louis Alfred Martel and Marie Laura Martel.

Great finds, eileenwilson! and MaureeinNY!
Haven't been able to find any children baptized prior to Leopoldine but have found this possible marriage that matches the parents of the known children.....
At St Jacques le Mineur Church in Montreal 07 Jan 1884 (yes!)
Zephire Arthur Lapierre son of the age of majority of Zephire Lapierre and deceased Exilda Fayette dite Lesperance of this parish
and
Marie Melina Martel daughter of minor age (under 21) of Louis Alfred Martel and deceased Marie Emelie Simard of this parish.
Both parties signed.
Witnesses were both fathers who also signed.
Anyway, food for thought.

Good one, Polar Bear.
Found a baptism for a child at Notre Dame Basilica born 19 August 1884 -- Louis-Zepherin Arthur, son of Zepherin Arthur Lapierre, merchant, and Marie Melina Martelle; sponsor is Zeherin Lapierre, grandfather, and Anna Martelle, aunt.

Looks good, eileenwilson.
Sure would be nice if we could find the family in a census or two before they move to the USA. They are well hidden.
One thing's for sure...they appear to be well educated. Their handwriting is beautiful!

Finally found him in the Lovell Montreal Directory in 1896 as Arthur Lapierre, photographer, with an address of Notre Dame des Neiges. Having trouble finding him in other years.

Thank you everyone.

Thank you RJ137 for this and the attached article which is of great interest, in that it shows that Noah employed Edgar at one time before "repaying him" - burglarizing him.
