I am trying to find an obituary of Kathleen Josephine Owers (nee Dignan-most likely born in Auckland). I know she died 9 Apr 1966 in Dunedin. Does anyone know if there is a newspaper in the Dunedin area that is searchable? I believe her husband (her 2nd) was Michael G. Owers. I am trying to confirm her parents. Thanks for any suggestions.

Looking at PapersPast it appears that Gordon Dignan and his wife were separated by 1910 and he failed to pay maintenance.The above trees might not be correct

Gordon Dignan is on 1911 ER and then nothing Annie is still there in 1954 so I suspect if Annie is the mother Gordon may not be the father

Thanks very much Twiggy and Janette! All helpful information. Yes, it seems very unlikely that Gordon is the father bc he went to Australia about 1909 or so and left his family behind. I will try contacting the funeral home so thanks very much for that link!

If Annie Dignan was her mum I suspect Josephine was born in Auckland according to the ER's
