Title: 1939 register
Post by: peramar on Sunday 29 July 18 20:30 BST (UK)
Does the Isle of Man have a different register taken in 1939 or is it combined with the England and Wales register?  Is it possible to access the information if it is a separate register?

I think I can remember reading that the 1939 Register for the Isle of Man was lost and no longer exists -  ???  Perhaps someone else can confirm if that is the case  ???

Researchers can request extracts from the register for Scotland and Northern Ireland from the National Records of Scotland and the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland, while records for the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands have not survived.

Thank you Sandra for the quick response.  So sad that the IOM register didn't survive but I suppose we have to be glad that the England and Wales register is available to us.  Very disappointed that the Scotland one is so expensive but maybe that will change.
