Do you know Maria's maiden name?
Did they marry in Scotland? if so, any details from the marriage record?
Any children born after start of civil registration? if so, might list date and place of parents' marriage

Possible children-
Rachel (1857) https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FQD6-F6V
Rose Ann (1859) https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FQWH-QML
Alexander (1862) https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VQQ8-8VK
Rosabella Marion Brown Irvine (1864) https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FQD6-NNG
Agnes (1866) https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FQDH-5BB
Andrew (1869) https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VQQ8-FS9

Birth certificates for most of those children should list date and place of parents' marriage which will give you a starting place to get further back.

You'd be relying on Parish records so!

Civil Records of Irish Births, Deaths and Marriages date from 1864 with

non-Roman Catholic Marriages recorded from 1845.
