Title: Marriage loom up please, Brown/Lewis, 1835
Post by: Lisajb on Tuesday 31 July 18 21:02 BST (UK)
Would some kind soul be able to look up a marriage for me?

Henry Brown to Mary Lewis, registered 1835 in Sydney, NSW

I’m unfamiliar with Australian records, where to look or what details might be included.

Many thanks
Lisa

Links to many excellent resources provided at the Resources Board here:  http://www.rootschat.com/forum/australia-resources-offers/ with sub-boards for each state/territory  :)

Civil registration commenced for NSW bdm 1856.

The info on the Early Church Records held by NSW BDM for the years prior to commencement of civil registration is scant.

I will see if I have any further details for that 1835 marriage mentioned by giblet.   Volume 73A,  line 386, ... Henry BROWN and Mary LEWIS ... it may be a transmitted record sent through to Scots Church in Sydney from one of the regional clergy.
