Help please to find the right parents of Janet Bertram. I think she was born 1733 and she was married to Gilbert Dempster. There appears to be two options - William Bertram and Helen Brotherston or John Bertram and Mary Dods. I hope this is enough information.
Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

Have you looked on Scotlands People and Family Search?
I think she was born 1733
How have you arrived at that birthyear?

I have a birth certificate from SP baptised 15 July 1733 with father William Bertram and mother. Villages on page are in East Lothian eg Garvald. They were married 12 April 1797in Garvald. I have looked on both SP and Family search.

Very confusing - are we looking for a Janet Grieve nee Bertram who married PETER Dempster in 1797?
Was she a widow? If not - where does Bertram come from?
If she was born 1733 - then she was 64yrs old when she married Dempster - is that correct or is there a mistake with her birthyear?

The 1841 shows Peter Dempster 85 and Janet 75. Allowing for rounding etc - she was clearly born long after 1733 ???

I think you need to take a good look at the info you have given
SP shows GILBERT Dempster and Janet Bertram had a child in 1759??
Peter Dempster & Janet Grieve had children from 1798 which would have been a miracle if Janet was born 1733 ???

There are some Garvald records on FreeREG and I noticed that on some Peter is down as Patrick*

Thanks to all for your replies. I have taken your advice Carol and gone back to the beginning and looked through all my paperwork and compared against what I have been given and what has been given here.
Patrick sometimes Peter Demster born 29/9/1754 Garvald freereg and familysearch
Janet Grieve born 21/2/68 Prestonkirk freereg
They were married 16/4/1797 Garvald SP
His parents are shown as Gilbert Demster and Janet Bertram
Janet Bertrim baptised 15/7/1733 SP
Parents shown as William Bertram and Helen Brotherstons
It looks as there might have been confusion because of the different spelling and interchangeability of names and two Janets.
Something had been niggling away at the back of my mind and it finally came to me today. I remembered that I had been in touch with Sam Bertram who very kindly sent me a spread sheet of the Bertram surname in Scotland and he too had the same parents for Janet as I had.
Do you think I can take this as correct rather than John Bertram and Mary Dods otherwise a lot of research will go down the tubes.

Are you absolutely certain that the Janet Bertram you are researching was born in 1733? If so - then her parents appear to be William & Helen nee Brotherstone
If she was born earlier than 1733 - she could be the 1728 birth to John & Mary nee Dods
SP shows another son - Alexander - born to Gilbert Dempster & Janet Bertram in 1759
