Hello
I would be grateful for any help on my paternal grandmothers side of the family. She was Catherine Heaney, daughter of Richard Heaney b 1856 Magherlinn and Catherine Dargan b1855 Taughlumney Near Moira Co Down.
Richard was the son of James Heaney a farmer. I have found his marriage to Charlotte Gorman in August 1852, but it appears on the record that this is his second marriage . I cannot make out the surname of his first wife or the year, except April..and the marriage was in Aghgallon. When I go to the National Library microfilms it will not bring up marriage records for me.
I am using an old iPad so when I go to Family Search although I joined my browser does not seem to be up to date to search this site.
Any help would be appreciated.

You could try updating your browser??

Does it say on that record it was his 2nd marriage and the name of his 1st wife is mentioned there?

Where did you find his marriage to Charlotte Gorman?

Are these the marriages you couldn't find?

Yes, it is written above James' name. Hard to make out but seems to be "was married to Mary Anne (? McHendry) Aghgallon 26 April , year unreadable. I tried the NLI microfilms but only kept coming up with Baptisms, even though it says Marriage records are there too.

Yes that's it. Sorry I should have said the other marriage seems to be recorded in the Baptism of John Heaney Jan 1855. Sorry I do not know how to attach it.
I have just realised that this record may be referring to their son John..?

Their son John was married to Mary Ann. ;)
It's simple, highlight (turns blue)the address in the address bar at the top of the page, with cursor on the blue highlight left click, a menu shows and choose copy, than you can put it in by right clicking in your post and choose paste.

Thank you very much! Every page on microfilm for Magheralinn seems to be filled with Heaneys and Dargans! Hard to sort them out, also so many with the name James and Richard!

Thank you for that link. I can open the home page but then the site doesn't bring up anything else for me. Must be my internet connection or older iPad problem I think! I did see somewhere before, perhaps on Griffiths Valuation records, that there is a Roger Dargan landlord and Richard Dargan tenant in Taughlumney. I am wondering if there is any family connection between them...
On the Heaney side I am even more unsure now if I have the correct James Heaney , father of Richard Heaney (married to Catherine Dargan). I have recorded on my family tree that this James was married to Charlotte Gorman, but now I am wondering how I could be absolutely sure. The time and place seems right, but still? Also Richard and Catherine have a marriage witness Lavinia Heaney, which I took to be related to Richard, but I can find no birth record for her. Or indeed any record that seems to match.
The headache has truly begun 😀
Thanks again for the link

Just noticed I said left click when it should be right click.
