The above married in 1890 according to US 1900 census Buffalo Ward and are together on 1905 too but after that he disappeared, Alice is in Toronto, Canada 1915 as 3 of their sons joined the CEF and passed away there 1916,17 and 18. What a tragedy for them all. At 1921 Alice was at 640 Bathurst St, Toronto West, with son William Auld b 18 Feb 1899 and daughter, Carrie born c. 1907.
Alice then disappears. William m Alice Maude Cole 9 Jun 1924 Cuyahoga, Ohio and had a son James Alwin Gray b 14 Jul 1928 shown on 1930 census at Cuyahoga Falls. Found all 3's b and d's but am missing James Alwin's wife (he was a widower in 1978) and children if any? Also if William and Alice Maude had any more children?
Carrie Gray m George Buller Holland ( b 15 Apr 1900) 2 May 1925 York, Ontario, Canada and they emigrated to Michigan, USA 23 Apr 1927; then he was naturalised but both disappear after that date?
Quite a lot of mysteries here especially the original parent's passings?

There is a 1906 article in a Buffalo paper about a Charles R. Gray who committed suicide and left a wife & 4 children - https://www.newspapers.com/clip/22485552/charles_r_gray_death
Might that be him?

Looking at the image for 1921, it says Carrie was age 16, so seems that her birth would be around 1905.

James A may have died 4 Apr 2006--an obit in the Cleveland Plain Dealer, 6 Apr 2006, sec B, page 6 may give the name of his spouse. I don't have access to this newspaper.

James A's death record states he was divorced.
I think she is still alive??
James's wife listed in the 1949 marraige record got remarried. Her father's obit in 1983 and her sister's obit in 1985 has her listed as Jxxx Byrne of Solon, OH.

Thank you all for your great research. I suppose Charles R Gray senior could have committed suicide while Alice was pregnant with Carrie, she was 18 at her marriage in 1925 or maybe she was already born, pity we can't find her birth record?
Still have no record of Alice Winn's passing, and whether Carrie and George had children and when
George and Carrie passed away?

Another part of this problem is Alice's mother Mary nee Donnelly bc 1843 New York but no birth, marriage or death record for her but appears on the 1870 US census but not at 1881 census of Canada where her husband Anthony Wind was at Parkhill, Middlesex North, Ontario, he stated he was widowed?
Anthony passed away 10 Apr 1888 Middlesex, Ontario.
