Title: Sarah Blundel
Post by: Finley 1 on Monday 06 August 18 15:03 BST (UK)
Hello :)
I am attempting to find more information on Sarah Blundel  /l

I have a baptism for her :- she was born In Walgrave Northamptonshire in 1725 --- but not baptised until 1740.

Then in 1746  she married Richard York/e.

The family moves to Yelvertoft, and they have a son Samuel 1747.  Samuel marries Katherine Wright in 1769  ----  then  have lots of fun with the ~Wright~ family

For now I would like to find more on Sarah  and Richard  (1720 - 1777  ishses)

thanks

xin

The problem with researching in Walgrave is that it had a Baptist Church really early
.Makes research difficult when the ancestors didn't baptise their children. Like most of mine.
I have a York interest in Walgrave, Mary born about 1755, married first Richard Hills, then William Barrett.

I knew that maybe we would have a link Marilyn ?.

If your William is the son of Richard with a brother John Woolston then his daughter married
into my family in her later life.

Also have Waldens, Deacons from the village.

Edited should have said William son of John and brother Richard. Sorry.

Well Sandy, I think most folk with Walgrave links will be connected to me somehow!
My Walgrave families are

DEACON
BARRETT/BARRITT
DUNMORE
BLAXLEY/BLAKESLEY
BARKER

Mary YORK - I don't whether she was a Walgrave lass or not.

The Dunmores and Blaxleys were C of E but the rest were usually Baptists.
Moses Deacon and his father Phillip were Baptist ministers in the 18th c

How do you think we might be connected Sandy?

Hi Marilyn I have been looking at the Family Trees on Anc**** and there is letter you wrote to some one re: the Barritt Family.

My link is through Mary Ann Barritt who married Alfred Collins (Collings) and lived at Hannington.

No one seems to have her marriage to my relative after Alfred died.

Xinia I have a lot of graves from Walgrave Cem and Church (hardly any) if you need anyone.

Okay I have just checked the tree I was looking at and if your William was born 1765 he had a brother Richard born 1778 and it his son John Woolston Barritt 's born 1813, daughter Mary Ann who is my link.

All the Deacons in Walgrave are descended from my ancestor Moses.
My line from Moses on is
Samuel 1734
William 1767
Charles 1793
Thomas 1828
Elizabeth Ann 1850

The Barretts/Barritts are all descended from John Barrett born under a cabbage patch about 1736
My line is
William 1765
Ann 1795 who married Charles Deacon

I went over to Walgrave this afternoon to the Chapel and re-took the few remaining stones.

I also went to the Cemetery but it chucked it down so came home lol.

Thanks for saying your lineage I had worked upto to yourself and saw your family tree on Anc***.

Blimey now I see you are on some of the same groups as me on fb. Small World.
