Looking for anything to do with Wm Norris of Enville (1792 - 1822). Married Mary (possibly Powell) and had a son, also Wm, who was a doctor (MD) and FRCS. His parents? Mary's ancestry? Help!! :)

Possible parents:
St Mary, Enville, Staffordshire - by Licence - 12 May 1791
William Norris (30) of Enfield, Staffordshire and Mary Boucher (25) of Enfield, Staffordshire

Many thanks BumbleB.

Shouldn't the parishes of both read 'Enville', BumbleB and not Enfield?? (Marriage record states both of that parish i.e. Enville).

The extract does show 'Enfield' but you're right, Annette7, it must be a mistranscription. Following BumbleB's post, I re-searched & found other entries relating to WN and they are all 'Enville'.
Does anyone know where the original records are held or may be viewed?

It is the Marriage Bond and Allegation which clearly states "Enfield" in the county of Stafford.
Sorry for the delay in responding, I've been away!

Hi BumbleB,
Didn't mean to imply your transcription was in error - just that the location of Enfield in Staffordshire, is a bit surprising and the family is definitely from Enville.
What is the source? I'm wondering if there is a transcription error from the original into that document... (although I have seen other references to 'Enville or Enfield' - just seems on that in the record for 'St Mary's Enville' the parish is 'Enfield'...
Many thanks,
Mike

Images for Staffordshire records are available via FindMyPast. That is where I found the Bond and Allegation image (original documentation) which definitely states Enfield. ::)
