Hi Folks,
I'm not very hopeful on this one but does anyone have any suggestions who the bride may be please. It is the marriage of Roger (Rogerius) Littleale to someone in 1572. FindMyPast and FS suggest YEvans. Any better guesses please.

Perhaps 'Yeavans' - with a badly formed 'a' between the 'Ye' and the 'v'.
There is another not-closed 'a' in the first name on this clip - 'Radus'.
The 's' on the end is the same as on the end of 'Rogerus'.

That's an interesting suggestion Goldie. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
Based upon that suggestion I tried the surname Yeomans for the parish of Pontesbury, Shropshire, which is where I am looking and it came up with the attached baptism, interpreted by FindMyPast as Johannes Yeomans in 1539. I think it looks very similar. The only trouble is that FindMyPast does not have another Yeomans in the parish until 1777.
It's definitely worth some further investigation.
Can anyone interpret the full line for Johannes Yeomans for me please? I'm still new to documents of this age in Latin.

I agree with goldie. In the first extract I read the consonant in the middle as v (or perhaps w), not m. I don’t see Yeomans at all.
The 2nd extract reads
13o die eiusdem bapt(izat)us Johannes Yeavan(e?)s*
On the 13th day of the same (month) was baptised John Yeavan(e?)s*
* This ending is uncertain, but to my mind Yeava... is very clear. Presumably a variant of Evans, so close to the Welsh border.

It wasn't so much the signature but just that the word Yeavans as typed by Goldie reminded me of the word Yeomans so I gave it a try.
Following on from your comments I thought I had better give Yeavans a try and there are a number of "Yevans" in that period in Pontesbury. So thanks both of you for guiding me, forcing me :-) in that direction. I am actually an Evans myself but have never heard of the surname Yevans or Yeavans before. This Yeavans actually comes from my mum's side of the family.
Finally, thanks BookBox for translating the latin for me. I am very grateful. I still have lots to learn in searching out my (and my partners) ancestors.
