I've been looking for a copy of some Bp's from All Saints Hertford dated early 1700's
There's a filmed handwritten INDEX only that shows Surname and date of event (FindMyPast).
I can't find the original film/record/transcript that should show date, Forename, Surname + Parents.
I've checked the Herts PR's on FindMyPast but the original 1700's Bp's aren't there for All Saints.
Anyone have any idea where the original records might be?
(They must be available somewhere as SKS transcribed the Index from somewhere)
Is it possible that TNA or London Archives would have something if the records aren't listed in FamilySearch Catalogue?
Thanks

I always try Genuki for questions like that ;D

deposited at Hertfordshire Record Office, County Hall, Hertford

Is there anything here that might help?

Thanks Rosie, GENUKI is usually very helpful
Unfortunately the Bp's for 1700-1730 are not included there.

You would be best viewing the online records at your nearest LDS family history center.
They have the records listed here

Thanks STG - that's a site I haven't checked. Although it does appear that the Bp's should be on FamilySearch, the whole 30 years seem to be missing.

That's another listing I've been going through Guy - I can't work out why the 1700-1730 Bp's are missing although an INDEX is available.
This is what the Index shows ...

TNA seem to suggest All Saints records are at Hertfordshire Record Office though they don't mention dates

As Hertfordshire and LDS don't seem to have them maybe they are just 'lost'
-
Oh dear Rosie - I was REALLY hoping someone wouldn't say that they're "lost" as that was my original thought as well :'(
I'll contact HALS (Herts Archives/RO) again just in case they might have found something.
Many thanks everyone - I appreciate all suggestions and ideas.

Although the LDS don't have them (and don't seem to have any BTs either for that period), its worth bearing in mind that FindMyPast (or whoever digitised the PRs for HALS the other year, from what I've heard they were volunteers) made a real hash of the digitisation programme and missed a lot of PRs. Many have subsequently appeared on FindMyPast but I was told by the Archivist at HALS that they had been provided by Familysearch which probably explains why that period is still missing if it turns out that HALS do have the baptisms for that period. Definitely worth approaching HALS about it but may involve a visit to Hertford to view them. :-\

Genuki is indicating that HALS may not have the baptism records for that period

Thanks smudwhisk - I'd noticed that FindMyPast seems to have been rather hit & miss with the Herts PR's. It's frustrating … but if that means I HAVE TO visit HALS then a lovely holiday to UK sounds like something I could put up with ;D

Oh gosh - thanks for the link Bookbox.
Now that rather answers the question, doesn't it? I've just found that the INDEX was originally produced by R.T. Andrews of Hertford in 1890!! THAT'S why he could make an index of the PR's as it was just prior to the fire in 1891.
I'll contact HALS and see if they're able to view anything of the original documents.
Many thanks everyone - I certainly appreciate your help. :-*
