I too thought Lesbia was the name of the house,I could have understood Lesbos the name of the island ,perhaps it’s another “ Dunromin”  ::)
Sappho was the Lesbian most well known from the ancient world, from the Island of Lesbos.
Lesbia was VERY heterosexual,so the house name is probably just because it sounds nice.I have lovely friends who are Scottish, work took them to Wales and they named their bungalow “Niaroo”,I could not fathom the mystery until they explained it was Oor ain——Our own backwards.Novel.
Thanks .Viktoria.

I puzzled over a similar one whilst on a walk on the Isle of Wight a few years ago - a house called "Llamedos" - and, no, it's not Welsh. At one time, there was also a racehorse called "Selohesra".

My late husband was handed a disc which had been found in a sample of yarn from Turkey.
On one side it said; Vyisder Asmeni.
                                 Orsisarsis.
                                    Asderisorsis.
On the reverse it said; B.Cosderiz.
                                    Onars Perors.
Sorry but it took us ages to realise it was not an identity disc of some sort.
This might be censored  :o

All I got, when I searched, was a "Turkish Representative"

"(H)Orsisarsis." almost as per my namesake's earlier post.    :o

Try reading it out loud - something about horses!.

Going back to the house name - could it be a name made up out of names of the house occupants.
My husband's grandparent's house name was an anagram of the initials of their families' names

Neither do I, so I am in for another sleepless night.
It is not that I am nosey ::) BUT I can’t see what the significance of Lesbia and her boyfriend is, what am I missing.?
I could not see it when I brought up the links.I mean I was no nearer to understanding.
I admit I am being obtuse ,but not on purpose,I just can,t help it  ??? ???.
Someone enlighten me please in words of not more than two syllables.

The Vyisder Asmeni, thing did look somewhat like the script on invoices from
Turkey. My  OH was Shipping Manager for a firm dealing with waste textiles, yarns etc for pulping to make paper.
Many thanks in advance.

Dylan Thomas called the village in Under  Milkwood Llaregyb, Bygerall.
Substitute the y for a u and add a g.
I might read it again when I can’t get to sleep because I don’t know what the significance of Lesbia is!!!!!!
I don’t know about being a martyr to music but I am a martyr to curiosity.

I still don’t get what the house being named Lesbia is all about, even the links don’t make it clear, well not to me.
I don’t think I am alone either,so someone out there please give a simple explantation of what I am missing.
Can’t stand any more sleepless nights!
