Have you checked for deaths in Ireland:
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/civil-search.jsp
Also there are various sites that will have the Eng/Wales/Scot census for 1901. Have you checked these?

Did Elizabeth marry Archibald Ramsay , 1890 Irvine Ayr ?

hi EV, Elizabeth Conway married a Hugh Moore my granda 15th April 1884 over in Ireland in Newtownards they stayed in Donaghadee area Regards Zion
-
We share these ancestors - my grandfather was Hugh Moore, son of Hugh Moore and Eliza Jane Conway (Lizzie). Very interested to hear from you - I have quite a lot of info on the Moore family from the 1911 census.
-
Hi DRSM I have the 1901 and 1911 Cesus details of Moore in N Ireland but what i have never found is the grave of Great granda John and Jane Moore their is a grave for Great great granda James Agnew Moore in Donaghadee grave yard and one for granda Hugh and Elizabeth Jane Moore Are you in N ireland? Regards Zion
-
Yes, I’m back in NI after many years abroad and my dad’s house is a short stroll from that graveyard - Church of Ireland, right? I know we were all Presbyterians, so you’ve seen the Moore’s of Hogstown on the Census - there are a lot of Moores in various townlands around Donaghadee but ours are definitely Hogstown as it’s cited on my grandfather’s passage to Canada in 1925. That’s how I found which branch to trace. Which of my grandfather’s siblings are you descended from? I’ll be heading to the graveyard ASAP to find James Agnew Moore and I note someone else on this thread mentioned the grave of W C Moore died May 1918, stone erected by Hugh Moore of Hogstown, our great-grandfather. Can you give me any clues as to the graves approx location in the churchyard?
I’m very happy to pursue this and try to find the other graves etc.
-
Just remembered - John Moore (b.1824) and Jane Connaway (b.1828) we’re married in Ballycopeland Church (now gone). The graveyard is still there though and I’ve looked around it once but found no Moores or Conway’s. I will however check with the Minister of Millisle & Ballycopeland Church who may be able to help (unless you know more?)
-
Hi your grandfather Hugh Moore was my uncle his brother Robert was my dad he is on the 1911 Census the youngest child Hugh is buried in Ballyvester if i knew when you were going to visit the Donaghadee Grave yard i could show you where the graves are i am in Donaghadee 3 times a day school runs with my grandkids
-
Thank you, that would be great! I could meet you in Donaghadee any day next week apart from Thursday and Friday, maybe just after you drop your grandkids? If you have the time, perhaps you could run your eye over the family tree I’ve drawn up so far and help with further info?
-
I can meet you Monday morning at 9am at gates to the graveyard if that would suit
-
Yes, that suits. The gates at the Cannyreagh Road end or the Moat Street side?
-
The gates at Moat Street wear suitable foot ware it can be very soggy in the Grave yard

Thank you, Zion - I may arrive a little after 9am, but I’ll be there!
And thank you, Rustypup - so good to be able to add another set of great-great-great- grandparents to the family tree.
-
DRSM and Zion, you can use private message option since you both have more than 3 posts.
-
Rustypup - just to check, Margaret Robb married the younger brother of her stepfather? IE, the same William James Conway shown on the 1861 census as being 20 years old when Margaret was 17?
-
Thank you, Maiden Stone - Zion and I met today and have exchanged email addresses! 🙂
-
Hi Rustypup, in a reply a few years ago you said Martha Robb was your gggrandmother and her sister was Margaret Robb who married William James Conway in 1863 they had a daughter Elizabeth Conway but seems some one has wrong info on her middle name do you know what it was ? the other site that the info came from must be wrong because they have and Elizabeth Jane Conway born 1865 and an Elizabeth Robb Conway born 1867 with the same parents and same grandparents ????
thanks

Hi Zion
Elizabeth's birth reg shows her born on 28 Jan 1867 https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1867/03502/2287381.pdf No middle name is included there.
There are entries with the middle name of Jane for Elizabeth though:
Her marriage to Hugh Moore in 1884 includes the middle name of Jane https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1884/10900/5981516.pdf The marriage was on 15 April 1884. She was born on 28 January 1867. Her age at marriage is showing as 18 years old which would be correct for her birth date of early 1867.
Her 1901 census entry with her family shows her a Eliza J. www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Down/Ballycross/Herdstown/1255800/
I can't see reference to any other daughter called Elizabeth for William Conway and Margaret Robb :-\ Doesn't help that on the 1901 and 1911 censuses Elizabeth shows as born 1865-6 though.
