Hi

Trying to find more info on my Taggart side, James Taggart was born in 1865 in either Scotland or Ireland to a john Taggart. James married a Mary s Dalzell and they had a son Charles Dalzell Taggart in brookline. Massachusetts but I am not having much luck with john Taggart any help would be great and appreciated

What year did he marry?

What birthplace does he give on the US census entry?

1910 entry clearly says Ireland - where does the possibility of Scotland come from?

If you can't find him check all the "unknown"s as they will have first name on Images!

Think James and Mary married in 1895 in Massachusetts must have emigrated late 1880s early 1890s from what I've been told John Taggart was born in Scotland and some of the stuff I have seen on ancestry say Ireland as birth but the place of birth is in scotland

The marriage record says :

James Taggart 32 clerk born Ireland parents John Taggart and Jane
Mary S Dalzell 31 domestic born Ireland parents Robert & Jane
first marriage for both parties
14 Aug 1895 Boston, Massachusetts

10 Jane Taggarts on 1901 Census age 55 (+/- 5 yrs )  but as I don't know their Religion I can't reduce possibles...  3 are RC  etc    http://www.rootschat.com/links/01mi2/

Both 1920 and 1930 censuses give father's birthplace as Ireland.

Unfortunately no helpful details about last address and not listed as heading to relatives - in short , no clues !

Civil Records of Irish Births, Deaths and Marriages date from 1864


........with non-Roman Catholic Marriages recorded from 1845.
