Does anyone have a Kelly tree from the Athlone area with a Mary (father Patrick) born 19th March 1874 who has gone missing? She married a British soldier in 1895 and came to England via various army postings. She is by far the shortest branch in my tree and this is my way of researching her!

So not one of these 3... C Reg Birth results for Mary Kelly from 1874 to 1874

When and where did she marry?

Married at St Peter's Athlone 8th August 1895 to Frederick William Hogben who was in the RFA.
Thanks

Is that all you have to go on at the moment? Mary was a domestic servant living in Athlone at the time of the marriage but that doesn't mean she was born there or her family lived there. There's also no way of telling if her father was alive at the time.

So your Mary (father Patrick) born 19th March 1874 is the one born 20th March 1874
-
The Mary born 1874 has father Patrick as a farmer whereas the 1895 marriage says her father was a labourer :-\

I have her dob from 1939 register and I'm only guessing this is the right birth cert.
-
There have been cases where the date in the register differs from the actual birth certificate (several reasons for this) but will have a look at another resource to see if there are any other possibilities.
-
Thanks, that's kind of you.
It's all I have for her. The 1911 states she was born in Athlone. It has been my wish to find siblings for many years.
Thanks

Was just going to ask you what 1911 gave as place of birth ;)
-
:) thanks

Wonder if this is a possibility?

Good morning
Thanks for that, Castleblayney does seem to be a rather a long way from Athlone, and the police constable bit would surely be carried on through to the marriage certificate, I'm not too sure. The difference in date of birth could quite easily be a mistake by the person registering the birth I guess.
Thanks again,
Rose

It's possible the date in 1939 register is incorrect- either because she didn't know the exact date of her birth (my father-in-law born before WWI could never remember his birthdate) or had shaved a few years off her birth year at some point.
-
Sure, she added 2 years to her birth on the 1901 and took two years off on the 1911, so I see your point. Her MI says 1874. She did the same almost for her eldest son, I don't think her maths was too good or she was playing around with the years due to her son being conceived before marriage and she got in a muddle.
