Hi all,
Looking for a 1911 and possibly 1901 look-up for Alice Walters (unknown DOB), with her daughter Alice Maud Walters (b.1903). In the Reading (Berkshire) area...
Many thanks
Mark

Can't see a birth for mum Alice in Reading but there is a Mabel Alice Walters born Reading 1884 :-\
her mother was also Alice so a link with the name if nothing else.
Mabel Alice is 19 and single in 1901 - possible marriage 1917.
Have you got the 1903 birth Mark? Just wondering what address is on there to compare with the 1901 census.

Just in case it's right here is the 1901 at 1 Highgrove St Reading
George N Walters 49 plumber and decorator
Alice J 49 wife
Albert E 22 son
Kathleen E 18 daughter paper bag maker
Mabel A 19 daughter - actually says 17 on the image not 19
Gertrude E 14 daughter
Beatrice M 12 daughter
Winifred G 10 daughter
all children born Reading

Thank you all so much, really useful. :D
I don't have access to the Birth Certificate, but I do know the occupation in listed as Housekeeper for Alice, and no named father. I'll check with the holder of the birth certificate regarding the address...
I'm actually distant cousins (est. by DNA) with the daughter of Maud Alice Walters - but can't see any obvious links with my Walters line...

Thanks for the extra info. Not the same address as the 1901 but Alice as a housekeeper could have been away from home and "living in"
Is there any link you know of to the family Alice Maud is visiting in the census Rosie found? It doesn't say she was a boarder so presumably not living there permanently.

I looked at that family in 1901 hoping that perhaps the head of the house was a Walters before she married Mr Brown but she was a Brown - childrens births confirm it.
Emma Brown married Charles Henry Brown in 1884.

I thought the same with regards to Emma. Looks like a bit of a dead-end; for now; evidence wise for in terms of identifying the correct mother for Alice Maud Walters. Thanks for the look-ups.

Was Alice the informant on her daughters birth certificate.

Was Alice the informant on her daughters birth certificate.
Yes, just confirmed that. Was also told that the Brown family had informally adopted young Alice...

It is good to know she had plenty of adopted siblings ;)
There is a Waters (not Walters) family living at 66 Bedford Road Reading in 1901. I have not found a link to Alice though
