Title: Burnham, Somerset - Schools
Post by: alison300 on Thursday 16 August 18 18:48 BST (UK)
I'm trying to identify a school shown on the 1901 census for Bunham - looks like Hall or Hail House and it was probably a boarding school.

Hi,

In the Kelly Directory of Somerset 1902 there is mention of a Hart House School at The Grove in it's own grounds of 8.5 acres, will hold 40 boarders.

Rev J Thompson & H J K Thompson MA are principles.

Could this be the school?

I had the same thought and just found the house on a map https://maps.nls.uk/view/106019993#zoom=4&lat=3681&lon=6001&layers=BT  https://houseandheritage.org/2018/01/20/hart-house/

Thank you Kay99 and JJen - I think that must be the correct one.  Great photos on the site.  Thank you.
