Title: Help identifying Shield
Post by: Soldring on Friday 17 August 18 23:07 BST (UK)
Hello,

I have attached a photo of a stained glass window that my grandfather salvaged out of a building in Brooklyn, NY, USA. It has been in my family basement for the last 50 years and I would like to hang it at my home.

Can someone help in identifying the shield / coat of arms - perhaps provide some context etc.

Thank you very much in advance,
Sue

I think its purely decorative.

No heraldry connection at all.

I agree, PaulineJ.

In most countries' Heraldry systems, you can't put a colour on a colour; they must be separated by a metal (e.g. gold, silver) or a fur.
So, the 2 blue squares on black simply wouldn't happen?

Could it be an artist's impression of Brooklyn Bridge over the river and the green may be suggests there was also a green park of some sort, which was either for sport or for relaxation?
