I would welcome opinions as to ages of the 2 last entries (ages always seem to be suspect in 1841) and the name of the last. I suspect that the last is also not a Pinnock but maybe that is wishful thinking.

Looks like Jemima and as not dittoed possibly not a Pinnock.
Are you descended from Jemima? When/where/who did she marry?

Replies coming in so rapidly that I missed your comment jennifer c about Walter on trial. Not aware of this so a lead would be welcome. T

trish1120. I think you have brought me back on track.
I had always been looking for a Hannah who married a Thomas Sims a little time before their first born John was baptised on 11 Oct. 1812. I had found that marriage in Shrivenham, more or less rejected it as not being Hannah, and had pencilled it into the relevant record book but had not used ink. I then forgot about it . When I found the marriage to Walter in 1834 , I realised that Susanna appeared to be her real name and added it to the records but had forgotten about Shrivenham.
Shrivenham to Goosey is about 10 miles so I really think you have cracked it. Many, many thanks. T

Perhaps someone can give you details of Walter Pinnock trial in Wiltshire 1838, that's all I can access.

I have now seen the 1838 book which shows that a Walter Pinnock aged 46 was 'shut up' for 3 months. Seems pretty certain this is the WP of interest but no other information, apart from that the trial was on 3 July 1838. Where was the trial held and are details of the larceny to be found? I would be pleased to know. T

Following a trip to the Wiltshire Rcord office in Chippenham, I can add a little more.
W.R.O. Ref; A1-125-60, 64
Walter Pinnock was held in Devizes New Prison pending trial on 8 April 1834 at Salisbury Sessions. He was convicted of the crime of 'Leaving his Family' and sentenced to 3 months.
On 3 July 1838 at the Warminster Sessions he was convicted, aged 46, of the Felony of stealing a hat and was sentenced to 3 calendar months hard labour at the Devizes House of Correction.
Seems to be a sufficiently unusual name to probably be the Walter we are intersted in.
Hope this helps. T
