You've posted on the wrong board- just click on 'report to moderator' and it can be moved to correct one.
1910-1930 is rather a wide range of dates. William's death certificate should list exact date of birth (as given by informant). You'll find Irish births 100 years or more old here-
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/civil-search.jsp
More recent ones will not be online.

Portlaoise is in County Laois.
-
There is a possible marriage in 1958. You can check on Free BMD for the name and area.

Do you know where William died?
We cannot post the names of people who might still be living.
There is a possible entry too for William and his wife on Electoral rolls but I can’t see a death entry for his wife.

You need to register for Family Search but it is free
If you think your man’s birth is outside these years, you can just search.
What do you think? I hope this helps.

Hi all
Thanks for all your replies and help. I'm ow avle to look into this and I've just ordered a copy of the marriage cert for William fllynn!
-
The marriage certificate should say name and occupation of father (unless illegitimate) which might help find the family in Ireland.
However, Portlaois is in Laois not Wexford :-\
-
Good luck :)
-
Thanks all ... Yes. doh to me for thinking it was Wexford?! Lol

If your looking on Irish Genealogy it won't be there. Only births up to 1916 at the moment. 1917 should be added later this year.
You can try Family Search but it will only be the index.

The civil registration births index shows a William Flynn birth registered in Mountmellick district in Jan-Feb-Mar 1918, volume 3 page 329, mother's surname McDermott.
The following folk might be a possibility:

Edited to add:

What occupation was given for William's father in his marriage registration?
-
Hi
Thanks occupation of his father says Carpenter ?
-
That looks good for gaffy’s post :)
-
Balance of probability says yes, if you're prepared to wait for a year or two, the birth registration on the 'IrishGenealogy' website will place it beyond reasonable doubt, if not, you need to send off to Roscommon for it.
-
Sorry, my error.
-
If right family this looks like the McDermott's in 1901

Hi all
Thank you very much for these bits of information. Looks like they're the ones I'm looking for. I'm trying to find more about the Flynn lineage (martin Flynn) who was a carpenter. I'm trying to find his mum and dad.
Any further help would be appreciate (I'm still a novice at this work)
Thank you

Gaffy has already posted the most likely marriage for Martin Flynn and Catherine McDermot but you need the birth cert first to be sure of William's mother's name.
Otherwise you might end up following the wrong family.

Yes I did thank you. I think these are the correct people 😉

Getting the birth cert should move your from 'I think' to I know. Which is what we all want.
