Hi,
Is there anyway of accessing marriage records without ordering a certificate? Doing a little research for a lady who is visiting from Australia who is trying to trace her mum's family but is due to go return in one week.
The marriage is: Daniel Brasier - Millie Johns 1938 Surrey, need to know father's details to narrow the search.

Cannot help with marriage details however by doing a free search of the 1939 register Daniel Brasier's birth year is 1898 and Millie's 1907.
There is only one birth in 1898 for a Daniel Brasier -
q3 1898 Wandsworth
Vol 1d Page 592
Mother's maiden name - Franklin.
Need to look for a Brasier/Franklin marriage who should be Daniel's parents.

Thank you for info - I did find them on the 1939 register - unfortunately Daniel isn't the father of my lady. She is born 1928 Cardiff, her mother left her when she was very young and then married Daniel 1938 and had another daughter Linda Ann.

Sorry still a little confused - is this Millie Johns or someone else? If Millie she can't have been born 1928 if she married in 1938.
If her mother was unmarried than it's unlikely her father will be named on the marriage.

This is Millie's daughter - Millie was born about 1907ish. She had her daughter in 1928.

Civil reg. for birth of Millie's daughter in 1928 shows mothers maiden name as Johns, so
Assume that Millie's daughter was illegitimate.
Have you found Millie's daughter on 1939 register? If so does she still have her birth name?
Re Millie Johns said to have been born 1907, I can find no birth registered.
Do you have any other info on Millie Johns?

I'm going to start again:
Millie Johns born 1907? (Not sure where)
Millies daughter born 1928 in Cardiff (mothers maiden name Johns) so presume she's illigitimate. Millie
left her when she was a baby, she later turns up in Surrey and married to Daniel Brasier. She married in 1938 and went on to have one more daughter.
I can't find the daughter on the 1939 register but I know she was taken in by a lady named Jane Hawkes in Cardiff.
So any information on Millie would be much appreciated. Hope this is better explained.

Can you confirm that Millie's first daughter b. 1928 Cardiff is no longer with us please?
There is a Jane Hawkes on the 1939 living in Cardiff with a closed record which could be Millie's daughter.

Yes she is still alive but knows nothing about her mother or father. I did see that with Jane Hawkes and there is a closed record which could be her.

We now have a problem in as much as Millie's daughter's name born 1928 should be removed from your posts as RootsChat has a policy where details of living persons are not to be posted on a board. However you can use pm's if necessary.

Is the other daughter, named in Andrea's reply #5 and born after marriage to Daniel Brasier, 1938, still alive? If you don't have proof of her death, her name should be deleted too.
