Thank you...So it is in Amlwch then?..
Im hoping for a william Roberts living there.!
-
There are several William Roberts in adjoining streets but not in Narrow street. What would his age be and other family names?
David
-
I would say 1790-1805
-
Here is an early Photo of Narrow St. A relative of mine, a druggist, had premises on this street and I have a couple of pages of the 1841 census with him shown living there at this time. There is only one Roberts family shown on the pages I have but they are not the ones relevant to you.
Regards
Street is shown as Narrow Street, Pwllcoch, Amlwch District 1, South Bridge. It led to the Market Square in Llanerchymedd, the then Parish boundary of Amlwch.

Wow ..thank you. I think i have made a mistake though.
I think that My GGGF lived here! he was benjamin owen-shoemaker Who then Lived abd owned a siop in the High street llangefni.
I have another problem that im hoping you can help...
I have a GGGgm That states on her marriage cert yhat she lived in Tan y graig.
Then in 1851 She states she was born Llanfihangel
Am i right in thinking that That address is in cardigsnshire ? Llanfihangel y Creuddyn
Her fathers name was william Roberts!
Is that why i cannot find her in Anglesey baptisns?
-
There is a Llanfihangel in Anglesey but, as it means 'The Church of St. Michael', there are many with that name in Wales. Llanfihangel Genaur Glyn, is close to Llanfihangel y Creuddyn in Cardiganshire just as an example.

Thought so' Thats why im struggling then. Maybe !Tan y graig! Narrows it Down?

There's a Ty tan y graig* near Llanfihangel Glyn Myfyr, which is on the Denbighshire/Merionethshire Border:

Tan y craig is common too ... it could be a farm, house or Road, just about anywhere in Wales.

Yep - only Llanfihangel I know much about is Glyn Myfyr and there was a tan y graig within shouting distance.
One of my greats lived in a tan y coed and there are lots of them :-X

There is a William Roberts at Tan y Graig, Llanfechell, in 1841 with a wife Elin.
In 1861 Elizabeth and Benjmin's ages seem be be 10 years out. Here, she gives her birth place as Llanerchymedd, which ties in with Narrow Street, six miles from Llanfechell.
I can't see a baptism though. Some of the children of William and Elinor's are non-conformist.

Thank you...That matches superbly..
But Elizabeth had died between 1851-57.
Benjamin married a elizabeth Griffith in 1857.As a widower.
I feel i am nearly there with these. Although there are numerous death revords for a eliz owen between 1851-57 The Adresses do not match! So im stuck there.
Benjamin! Again i can find no concrete baptism. all i know is he states born Llangefni (father RICHARD OWEN)
But thank you The willian roberts find Above Looks promising....thanks David

He may not be the right William Roberts but, in 1851, still at Tanygraig, he gave his birth as Llanfflewin, near LLanfechell, in 1773. There was a William Roberts baptised in Llanfechell on 9th April 1773, son of Richard and Catherine.

1793 matches perfectly...but as you say it might not be him!
