Have you looked on Scotlands People?

www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk

For deaths 1851-1854 use the Church Registers.  For deaths from 1855 onwards use Statutory Registers

I cant see a death on scotlandspeople  for him (which is strange) but I found a death that could be Mary ,  the dates and age fit
CLARK MARY 64 (mothers maiden name) CROSSAN 1864
594/ 112
Girvan
if you have nothing else I would suggest ordering the certificate and see if Arthur is mentioned !
