Title: Recording of Births 1970-1980 (*General query*)

Just a quick question: for births registered between 1970 and 1980 where the parents are not married, would the father's name be recorded if given or would it be left blank? (I do mean 1970-1980, not 1870-1880 :) )

Hi the fathers name would be left blank if parents not married unless the father accompanied the mother to the registry and registered the child with her This continues to this day

Thank you :) I wasn't sure if it was the same as England & Wales or not.
