Title: Could these be the same person 35 years apart?

I have recently found  a photo recorded as being of a volunteer group that I know my grandfather belonged to. The snip on the left is of someone in his very early 20s and the one on the right is my grandfather in his 50s.  I have larger restored version.

I've flipped the right hand photo so that they are looking in the same direction.

Do you think that they could possibly be the same person?

Nose and Eyes are diffrent..Unlikely to be same person from my point of view

I don't think they are the same - the pic on the left shows a young fellow with slightly protruding eyes, but this feature isn't apparent in the photo of the older man.

In fact the pic of the younger man looks quite similar to photos of Edward VIII before he succeeded to,  and subsequently abdicated, from the throne. ;D

I'm torn....they both have wide foreheads and a narrow bridge to the nose. They also both have fleshy skin beneath their eyes. The angle of the chin strap of the hat on the young man could alter the shape of the ears and ears do grow throughout life. The carriage of the older man's head and the lighting appears to narrow his eyes too making them look smaller due to squinting against the light.
I wouldn't rule it out.

I think they could be, looking at the pouches under the eyes & the cleft under the bottom lip. But the eyes of the older man look set more closely together than the younger one.


My nose has definitely broadened out over the years so I discounted the noses.

It's tricky as he should be in the group photo somewhere and this was the nearest. I'll try to get a better photo.

Possible but unlikely. Different shape face, ears, nose, chin size, eyes. Nose of the older man is more pointed. They have puffiness under the eyes but this is the only similarity that I can see.

I think it possible that these are the same man .. If I had to jump off the fence either way I would say that they are.  People can change a bit over the decades but I can see similarities between the two.
