Title: Newcastle or Sydney phone books from the 1980s
Post by: nyreew5 on Thursday 13 September 18 04:04 BST (UK)
Hi, I'm looking for a Sydney or Newcastle, NSW phone book from 1989, but any other 1980s books would be really good - might anyone out there have phone books they want to get rid of?
Many Thanks, Nyree

Hi,  Welcome

I wonder if the main public library in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia will be able to help ...

Welcome from me too Nyree.

I presume you know that Australian Rolls 1903 - 1980 are on Ancestry (which is probably why you are looking for post 1980 phone books)?

Nyree, you could also ask the Newcastle Library, when you contact them, what electoral rolls they have past 1980.
Plus if they don't have them, try the NSW State Library Ask a Librarian service.
(SL Qld has Qld rolls right up about 2015 so I would presume the NSW SL has similar for NSW)
From late 1980s these are totally alphabetical, but before that you would need to have some idea of location as they were only listed by electorates and sub-divisions, making it a long search if you have no idea of an address.
