Hi there,
I have pretty much been a windows user for the most part and so have used family tree maker and legacy as my offline family tree application.
I now have mac book pro and am looking at the best application for storing my data. As I don't like to rely on just online application that come with subscription sites.
If you can recommend me your favourite and why you like it/what you don't like about it. I'd be grateful.
Thanks,
-
I have a Mac and I use FTM2017.

do you like it? I think the last version I had was 2012 for windows, has much changed since then?

I like the fact that it syncs with Ancestry ( it's the only version that does now, previous versions won't)
This will tell you about the updates etc

Hi, Shevy.
I ended up going to MacFamilyTree. While I have some minor concerns with it, I'd recommend it to any Mac user with a small to medium sized tree. I posted a detailed review a couple of years ago to Gensoftreviews of Version 7, with a follow-up a couple of weeks later on Version 8. If you go to the following page and scroll down to April 9, 2016 (V7) then up to April 24, 2016 (V8) you could read my thoughts on it (as well as other people's ;D).http://www.gensoftreviews.com/?p=314&s=macfamilytree&sel=&new=&lic=&pla=&type=&sort= (http://www.gensoftreviews.com/?p=314&s=macfamilytree&sel=&new=&lic=&pla=&type=&sort=)
Hope it helps.
Cheers,
Peter

REUNION is a Mac-only app. We've been using it for 10 years. Easy to use. Well worth a look. http://www.leisterpro.com

thanks everyone for your input. I went with family tree maker in the end. It's what I have used before and got a $20 discount for already having a previous version.
