Hi,
I'm looking for any info on George Alexander Spence born in 1909 in Edinburgh to the parents Malcolm Kerr Spence & Caroline Margaret Spence (Nee. Stewart).
I've yet to trace a marriage for him, but do remember finding a possible death in 1938.
Could you also see what you can find on George's sister Catherine Kerr Spence born 27th April 1907 also in Edinburgh please?

I didn't find a birth record for George Alexander Spence 1908 - 1910!
Do you have his parents marriage & how do you know of him if you're unsure of his name?
Reading your post it seemed you knew he was born George Alexander 1909 as it didn't have 'George A or Alexander G c1909' which would let people know you were unsure.

This would give you his status i.e. single/married as well as wife's name (if married) & his parentage.

If not, I think the DC would be my 1st call?
If you have his YoB correct(ish) that death would fit with his age.
He seems to have been registered as plain George or maybe Alexander?

If George was born at the end of 1910 it would be indexed the following yr & for the 1911 census he would still be 1 yr old, not 2 until the end of the yr?

The 1911 census was taken on 2 April. If he was born any time between 3 April 1909 and 2 April 1910 he would be one year old on the date of the 1911 census, but if he was born on or after 3 April 1910 he would not be a full year old and should show up as 0 years old in the census.
If he was born in January 1911 he would be 2 months old on the day of the census - it is possible that someone could have misindexed 2 months as 2 years. You need to look at the original of the census to check.

I think this should be Glebe Terrace?
Taken from the VRs 1905, couldn't find a Globe Terrace.

I know about George from a 2nd cousin about 10/11yrs ago.
Unfortunately she is no longer has interests in family tree research so
I’m trying to fill in the blanks.
It maybe her tree or indeed mine you may see George on.
