This couple married in 1850,
1861 Palace road Westminster St Margaret
Mathias Martin 40 solder grenadier guard b Ramsbury Wiltshire
Lucy Martin 40 b Chively, Berkshire
Mathias died in 1879 in Wrexham. His gravestone states he had been a servant at Plas Power for 17 years,
Also LATE GRENADIER GUARDS, WHO SERVED AT THE CRIMEA
but I can`t find him there in Plas Power, or anywhere close. . It may be a transcription error and could be other durations, but I still can`t find him or Lucy any where.
Lucy is still in Plas Power , Wrexham, Denbighshire in 1881 and 1891.

Family search 1871:- Mathias Maiten (55) b Ramsbury, Lucy Maiten (55) b Chieveley. Living Bersham, Denbighshire.

Living at Plas Power Lodge. Ref is RG10/5655/F66/p13.
Mathias down as Lodge Keeper and Pensioner.

Can't find a great deal regarding his Army service other than the fact that he enlisted in 1844 aged 22 and left the Army in 1866 aged 44.
