I have recently acquired some loose pages from an old autograph book, a few dated 1917, and rather than destroy them, would like to hand them on to any interested descendants.
One consists of a rather nice pen & ink drawing entitled "The Sky Pilot" showing a vicar/priest on horseback. Dated 1917, in capital letters it gives the name of ENGR. LIEUT. A. LESLIE GATLAND, R. N.
"H. M. S. MALAYA"
This is possibly his death:
1954/34928 Gatland Allan Leslie 68Y
Any family tree websites which lead to contacting descendants would be very helpful.

Hi, I've sent a message to the most likely looking tree. (the one that doesn't have links to other trees) so again, hopefully the right one.
No doubt you will make them prove descendancy ;D
-
Thanks Mckha489........ :)

Person I messaged says no relation and he knows of no descendants. Do you want me to try the other trees or have you already found a home for it.
-
Oh yes please Mckha489, it would be great if you could do that....... :)

Hi minniehaha Allan Leslie Gatland is my grandfather and was marine engineer in the Royal Navy during WW1. My father is the farmer identified by your research helper. If you still have the pages of the autograph book I would love to have them. My mother and brothers still living.

Hello tagnet,
Welcome to Rootschat. I wish I could fulfil your request but I am very sorry, I no longer have the autograph book. :(
