Can anyone please pick up the Haworth family on the 1841 census, please? Richard Haworth was born in Hull in 1781, his wife Mary in about 1787. I think they had two daughters, Mary and Catharine, and were probably still in Hull in 1841. I've got Richard in 1851 in London, married to Charlotte (Mary died in 1844) and on the 1861.

Where did Mary die - Yorkshire or London?
Seems strange that somebody born in Yorkshire and living there up to ??1841 would suddenly up sticks to London in his 60’s
-
I can't find Richard with Charlotte either - is the surname transcribed correctly?
-
Ok got it now the surname is fine but the first names are abbreviated to trip me up :-[
Richd & Charl
He is down as a traveller so perhaps that is how they met so far from his home.

Death for Mary Haworth in Jun 1844 Hull age 70 would that be her.
-
He married Charlotte Fraser widow nee Jordan 31.12.1845 Holy Trinity. He is shown as a widower occ commercial agent father John occ Miller
-
That 1844 death would put her birthyear at 1774 but opening post says 1787 and Richard 1781
-
The 1844 death for Mary must be the wrong one - there was no age on the record I found. I had the marriage to Charlotte. We know from other records and correspondence that Richard went to London and was there by 1851. The letters suggest that he had been there for a lot longer than 10 years (I don't have all of them yet). Charlotte died at the beginning of 1861 and Richard returned to Hull, dying a year later. I'm trying to piece together his story.
Thanks for your help.

There's an Elisabeth Haworth bapt in Braithwell, Yorks on 20 July 1818 d/o Richard and Mary his occ is merchant. Could she be the 20 - 24 year old Eliza in 1841?

I thought I'd posted a reply, sorry. Yes to Mary Birks. The Hayworth 1837 burial could be the right one. And so could that baptism. Thanks.
