Title: Trying to find parents of William L Thomas

Hi
I am trying to find out who he was.
William L Thomas married Dec 1946 Edmonton Middlesex to Stella Ann Dyke nee Cullingham
I can find no birth or death records for William  L Thomas
Any help please.
His name was William L Thomas
not to be mixed up with my Uncle who was Wiiilam George Lionel Thomas

I suspect the only way forward would be to order the marriage certificate to get an age and father's name/occupation.

The difficulty is that in the year after WW2 ended there were so many men and women from the Services or doing civilian work who had not gone back to their pre-war homes that it would be almost impossible to find a William L Thomas without further information.

Have you traced their life together?

They were at 16 Parsonage Gardens, Enfield in 1951.

Maybe not too much help but still there in 1953..

In 1956 they look to be at 12 The Mall, N.14 [Southgate Borough] and still there in 1961.

Is there an obituary that might help. I see Stella died 2002 in Dorset from death registrations DOB as 7 May 1911 the same as in the 1939 register.
