everyone
I need a bit more help this time on my East Yorkshire roots.
Just a tiny query really
I have the marriage of William Hunter to Sarah Thompson at Sculcoates on 13 May 1787 and I have not got any further with the Hunter line therein. So I thought about the witnesses to the marriage who are a Susanna Hall and a Thomas McRhie (McHie) (could be Mckay) and I have the Hunter line downwards...the Thompsons were related to Caius Thompson a merchant and owner of ships.
I know there are Hall relatives as one of the children was baptised
Robert Hall Hunter was baptised 3 July 1791 at Sutton on Hull son of William and Sarah Hunter (father was a wheelwright)
My question is how can I find out which Susanna Hall is ours being a witness well which can I be sure of ...
Thanks again.

Is anyone researching Hunter in Hull ?

Have you checked surnames interest board?

Hi Annette,
Just so you can put your records straight the marriage took place in Holy Trinity, Hull and not Sculcoates, Hull

Hello again,
Yes thanks I got your PM gogogadgetlegs - I have a copy of the marriage somewhere!
Thank you I have the children of William Hunter and Sarah nee Thompson it was kind of you. I was getting confused with Holy Trinity in Hull and Sculcoates sorry!
I see you have Binnington in your lines of interest, from Goole ?
I dont know if I will get further back with Wm Hunter -
thanks again.

My Binningtons come from around the Beverley area, but my wife has Binnongtons in her line Nth Dalton, Broomfleet, Beverley Hull areas, which is around the same area as my own but we cannot connect the two Binnington lines to each other.
I did not know there was a Binnington line from Goole so that must be a new line, do they all live in Goole?
A Gentleman once sent me a file on Binnington's in North Lincolnshire which i kept just in case i found a connection to my own.
best phil

Hello everyone just come back to this bit of research.
Is there anyone that might have some Memorial Inscriptions for Hull, Holy Trinity please ? I am trying to find the exact Susannah Hall noted a witness to William Hunter marriage and I found one died in 1811 buried at this church listed. I think she left a will which I might get for any one info on the Hall family. Somehow the Hall and Hunter are related.
If anyone could look that would be great. PM me if you need...

Just had a look and found the burials for two Susannah Halls,
Susannah Hall burial 30 Nov 1810 Srt Mary, Hull, Spouse William Hall, (Tailor)
Susannah Hall burial 04 Dec 1811 Holy Trinity, Hull, Non other information. checked all the MIs i have in Hull but found none, plenty of others.

Hi I wanted to revisit this query, basically I havent got much further,
I come back to this family and think that Sarah Thompson wasnt linked to Caius Thompson (ship owners) none of her children were named after her father, as a clue, I wondered if anyone could help me with
I thought she might be the daughter of Francis and Sarah Thompson of Hull circa 1765
the witnesses to this marriage in Holy Trinity Hull 13 May 1787 who were
Susanna Hall
Thomas McRie (possible McKay)
In particular how do I find which Susanna Hall this is ?
I thought they may be family members.
-
They also named a son Thomas McKie 1801
ADDED
What about Johnson Hunter 1808 ?
-
Yes these are both children of William and Sarah Thompson. I feel I have gotten to the top of the tree.
William Hunter was a wheelwright.
