I have the census records for Samuel Bewick, born 26 April 1842 at Walker, Northumberland, England, as per Tynemouth District Vol 25 Page 415
In the 1851 and 1861 census, he was living with his parents at Walker, Northumberland
In June 1868, at Newcastle on Tyne, he married either Susanna Robinson, or Susanna Forster.
According to FreeBDM, at Newcastle on Tyne, Vol 10b Page 151, Jun 1868 he married either Elizabeth Nelson or Jane Parker.
OR
At Newcastle on Tyne, Vol 10b Page 154, Jun 1868 he married either Susanna Robinson or Christina Wight, but his name does not appear in the list,
OR
At Newcastle on Tyne, Vol 10b Page 131, Jun 1868 John Bewick married either Susannah Forster, Margaret Anderson or Elizabeth Green.
Family Search has
Samuel Bewick probably married one of the following people
William Law
Susanna Robinson
At Newcastle on Tyne, Vol 10b Page 154 Jun Qtr 1868
The 1871 census has Samuel and Susanna, and two children at Longbenton, Northumberland. Her birth place is shown as Coxhoe, Durham.
This is the birth place shown in the 1881, 1891 and 1901 census.
All the census show her as the same age as Samuel.
Of the five trees on Ancestry, three had Susanna Forster as the wife, one just has Susanna, and the fifth does not have him married.
Any assistance in sorting out which Susanna/h he is married to would be very gratefully received.

Jamjar: Thank you very much for that information.
I had forgotten to look at the GRO site (again) :-[ (Really must get into the habit of using it)
That will sort things out very nicely, and hopefully progress the family tree further back.
Again many thanks

I can’t find her on the 1851, or 1861 censuses on FamilySearch.

Robinson marriage seems to have been between two St John Churches in Newcastle according to marriage locator:

Marriage is on Familysearch, although it doesn't say which church.

Baptism on FreeReg at Kelloe St Helen.
23 Oct 1842 Susanna 1st daughter of James Robinson, Cartman, of Coxhoe, and Margaret, formerly Thompson.

Wonder if this is the marriage of James and Margaret:

Thank you all for your help and interest.
Jamjar, I will have a look for the census information, but if you could not find the information, I doubt if I could.
RTL, I was totally unaware of the marriage locator website, which I will put to use for some other marriages I have in mind.
Alan, thank you for finding the baptism. I now have more information for this family.

I only have access to census on FamilySearch and others very often find families I can’t find on there, using other resources. So, still a good chance someone will find them.
Also, it is only Susanna’s birth on GRO in that area, so I wonder if her parents were from elsewhere and moved on after her birth. There could be children before or after her birth.

I only became aware of the marriage locator website quite recently from a post that I saw from another RootsChatter. You won't find all marriages on there but I must say, I have had a pleasing number of successes being able to locate a number of marriages I have been after in the Newcastle upon Tyne registration district. :)

Thank you both.
Jamjar, I have tried to find the Robinson's, but can only find the marriage that you found. Beyond that, they do not seem to exist.
RTL, I have used the marriage locator, and have found several which seem to be divided between two churches. The marriage for Samuel and Susanna comes up as: The entry is located between entries for Newcastle St John the Baptist and Newcastle St John, both in RD Newcastle upon Tyne.
Will have to try to see the original registers.

Thank you VERY much for that.
They were both definitely "full" age, being about 26 when married. Both were born 1842, with Samuel in April, and Susanna in October.
Again, many thanks for finding that information. It is now entered in the marriage section of the software I am using.

You are welcome a chesters. Glad to have been able to help, especially as you live so far away in Australia. :)
