Hi, I'm trying to get information regarding my great-grandfather. He was supposed to be listed in Odessa, Ukraine in the 1897 Census. I am looking for all the information that is given for him on that census.
Does anyone have access to that census, or know who I can contact?
His name was Matvej Lohven Tzuwakin.
Born in 1873 Russia
Came to New York, US in 1905, on the Kroonland, from Belgium Antwerp
Any help would be so appreciated!

Have you checked Family Search? Unfortunately the records are not in English therefore I am unable to assist. I also found on Ancestry where the fist name was changed so I suggest performing a search using the last name and Russia as the birth country

Hello cjvp,
All-Russian 1897 Census for Odessa is digitized but not indexed.
To find a person, you have to know the street, where he lived, or at least part of the city. Otherwise, you have to browse all the lists, and it is about 66,000 images.
Regards
Michael

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately I have no idea where they lived. All I know is Odessa, and my great-grandfather taught in a university.
