Looking for real death and grave site of mary jane Murphy ( nee Boon) married Denis Murphy resided Chatham Islands Have conflicting dates on line. Two I have are 1902 and 1935 I do not want to purchase a death cert as I am researching for someone else thanks lnr
-
These are the deaths for Mary Jane MURPHY at the NZ BDM site since 1/1/1880.
The person with the 1936 death was the widow of John MURPHY, and she lived in Hamilton - there is an obituary in the NZ Herald.
-
Then there is this story, from the Feilding Star, 22 September 1915. This would put the death of the wife of Denis MURPHY of the Chatham Islands at around 1902

The mistranscribed (?) marriage for those trying to assist.
1870/3954 Mary Jane BOON
Davis MURPHY

But where is the death registration?
I do not see it.
Unless it is one of the Mary MURPHY's who died in 1902.

Maybe registered without 'Jane' being included?
1902/869 Murphy Mary 78Y
1902/7605 Murphy Mary 58Y
1902/8040 Murphy Mary 74Y
Minniehaha.

I think the 58 year old would be the best bet - young enough at marriage in 1870 to have 12 children.

1902/7605 Murphy Mary 58Y
This Mary Murphy died on 29.11.1902............

Part quote from reply #2..
"Then there is this story, from the Feilding Star, 22 September 1915".
Death registration:

Sorry to pop into this conversation a few months late,
I have visited Mary Jane Boon's grave last year, as it was known by a descendant of Ellen (who is not a blood-Murphy)
this link, is the location https://goo.gl/maps/qjuz1YmpsKd9su5H9 in the All Saints Anglican Church grounds, in Burwood, Christchurch
The grave site is just labelled 'Mother' so made it hard to find record of it. It's a beautiful location, just by the Avon river
